For more than 40 years I have worked in transport research, administration and teaching - mainly in the areas of traffic engineering and road safety. Over the past two decades, I have focused on improving road safety in motorising countries, including Afghanistan, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and India. The complexities of motorising countries, including cultural differences, complex operating environments and origins of behaviours continue to provide ongoing challenges and interest.
